Kurt is 20 years old and was raised in the beautiful North Eastern Oregon, which is home to some of the best hunting, fishing and beautiful views in Oregon. North Eastern Oregon is an extremely beautiful place to harvest any trophy and Kurt loves spending time in the outdoors in his area. In the spring and summer time, you will find Kurt fly fishing Oregon, Idaho and Washington with Generation Wild. Generation Wild is a non-profit organization with an educational club structure for kids to get outside and spend time in the outdoors. After summer fall comes and Kurt will be chasing big bulls and mule deer in the Blues and whitetails in Washington section of the Blue Mountains. His favorite time of the year is winter because fly fishing for steelhead on the very popular Grande Ronde and Wallowa Rivers begins to heat up and chasing mallards and large honkers in the valley is an absolute blast. He started out tagging along on hunts with his brother when he was 6, but once he could get his hands on a gun he was out in the duck blind every weekend. Since then Kurt has been scouting and chasing waterfowl 365 days a year. Some people say it’s unhealthy to be addicted to something but those people haven’t witnessed bright orange feet during a January thaw. Kurt works full time and is also a full-time student attending Walla Walla Community College studying Fisheries and Watershed Ecology. After Walla Walla he plans to transfer to a four-year school and go forward with both Fisheries and Watershed Ecology.

My passion for hunting and the outdoors started as a young child. Since the time I could walk my parents had me in the woods teaching me all about the great outdoors. At age two they would carry me into tree stands with homemade harnesses to strap me in so that I would not fall out. Seeing all the wildlife come in, and hearing elk bugle was the most amazing thing in the world. I fell in love with the woods, the smells, the animals and felt blessed to be surrounded by nature everytime I stepped foot into the woods. Fast forward to today, I am an avid hunter spending many hours hiking, calling, and trying to figure out what the animal’s next move is.

My name is Nathan Main I’m 31 years old currently live in Fruitland Idaho with my wife and daughter. I’ve been around hunting my whole life, but didn’t get into hunting waterfowl until I was around 16 when I developed an interest and desire for hunting anything that I could call into decoys. Waterfowl hunting definitely filled this desire and after harvesting my first duck on the Columbia River I was hooked for life, and have been chasing waterfowl ever since. I mainly hunted on the Columbia River growing up and chasing geese in the I-5 corridor. I now spend a majority of my waterfowl hunting in Eastern Oregon and Western Idaho. I’ve been pretty fortunate in my pursuit of waterfowl, harvesting several different species in California, Oregon, Idaho, and Washington. But my favorite places to hunt are along the Snake River between Oregon and Idaho from my boat or in layout blinds in corn fields. I like throwing big spreads with lots of movement. I am extremely fortunate where I live as I can hunt a variety of waterfowl from puddle ducks, divers, honkers, specks and snow geese. My favorite species to hunt would have to be mallards, to me there is nothing like them, the way you can get big flocks to work and drop into the decoys. I hunt ducks and geese from the early goose season in September all the way to the end of snow goose season in March. The reason I love waterfowl hunting is that I love the challenge it brings. The challenge of finding the birds, the challenge of calling the birds and the challenge of finishing the birds into the decoys. Besides hunting waterfowl I have a huge passion for hunting mule deer in the Idaho backcountry.
I’m an avid outdoorsman born and raised in Eastern Oregon. I have been hunting everything from waterfowl to big game. I’m 19 years old and have been guiding at North West Big Game Outfitters for about 5 years now. Hunting is just in my blood and I am very excited to be part of the team.
